Taking photos everyday means being more aware of life cycles, seasonal changes, and the passage of time. Through the haze of a hot summer day, I can’t help but see signs of fall in the landscape. Every fading flower is another sign of summer’s fleeting.

  1. Someone told me today that summer is over. It’s true the goldenrod have taken over the field behind our house, but I’m not ready for fall. Still, this is a lovely photo — neat pincushion seedheads and soft subtle tones.

  2. i love this. i love the sharp detail and the soft framing. it’s a perfect combination for this subject. have you always known so many names of flowers? i’m impressed and inspired…
