Each fall, we journey to Crex Meadows Wildlife Area to witness the sandhill crane migration. The birds return to the marsh near dusk, and disappear into the reeds in a chorus of soft, rattling calls. This year, though, the sunset nearly stole the show.

  1. Gorgeous photo! Would it screw you up if Tim and I got this photo instead of the one we ordered. If not, that is ok….because the 1st one is beautiful also. Thanks

  2. What an exquisite image, such wonderful layers of soft mist and light! And how wonderful to see the sandhill crane migration — it must be an amazing experience! I heard a small flock pass overhead once, and the sound has stayed with me.
