Familiarity can be a challenge. How to go beyond mere recognition, escape the cliché, really see the thing itself in that moment? It requires a suspension of everyday thinking – a willingness to put naming and knowing aside and only see.

It reminds me of those moments when you see your beloved, or an old friend with fresh eyes. When, on the millioneth gaze, you suddenly see them as if for the first time and yet, somehow, know them more intimately than ever before.
