07.30.13 purple with envy

I have Russian Sage envy. In every other garden, the plant grows in a beautiful balanced explosion of purple. It stands tall and fans out from the center, at once delicate and strong. Mine is a pushover. Whatever grows next to it is inevitably more assertive, causing my sage to slant and sag. Perhaps next spring, another intervention is in order. It’s a process…
