A full day of making in the studio finished up with loads of local harvest prints. Exciting to be back in this season of plenty. I’ll be glad to create some mouthwatering new images while dreaming up the next meal. Getting ready for Art at St. Kate’s a week from Saturday. Let there be sun…
Art/Craft Fair
good measure
minneapolis craft’za
Well, I think it’s safe to say that my 2013-edition 365 project is pretty much dead at this point. It was a good run and I created tons of new pictures and stumbled onto two new bodies of work I’m excited about. The latter part of the year has become jam-packed with art fairs, volunteer opportunities, freelance gigs, and family stuff. I’ll get back to shooting & sharing regularly but maybe not in the near, near future…
I am posting today, however, not to apologize but to invite you to my latest indie art & craft fair happening tomorrow, Saturday November 16th from 10-5. It’s called CRAFT’ZA and is presented by the same folks who put on CRAFTSTRAVAGANZA in the spring. There will be demos, food trucks, and approximately 60 makers inside the historic Grain Belt Bottling House atrium. Warm, cozy, and brimming with creativity! Sounds tempting, right?
I will be previewing some new items and I’ll have holiday cards, stone tile coasters, wood blocks and calendars – all fantastic gifts. If you can’t make it tomorrow, I’ll be gradually stocking up my Etsy shop with all these items, too!
nokomis urban craft fair
I’ve had this on my calendar for THE WRONG SATURDAY for about a month. Thanks to Arty Didact for setting me straight. Glad I found out today and not next Friday!!
In any case, it’s a great little art fair right in my neighborhood, I’ll be there (with lots of new designs), and it’s happening NEXT SATURDAY, November 2nd. I hope you locals can make it!
spirit of the st. croix
I know. My blog is sadly neglected these days. I promise to give it some TLC next week. I’ve been working night & day to get ready for this weekend’s Spirit of the St. Croix in Hudson, WI. It promises to be a beautiful art festival along the St. Croix River with food, live music, demonstrations, stuff for the kids to do and last, but not lease: 80+ local artists including moi. Take a drive and come visit me. I’ll have new work, a selection of wood block mounted prints and a smile for you.

08.15.13 knock on wood
It’s been slow progress but, with any luck, I’ll get the last of the bugs worked out of this process and have a selection of these ready for holiday shopping! The blocks are handcrafted (by my dad), from reclaimed wood, stained dark or left natural and sealed with satin varnish. Featuring flush-mounted fine art prints in a variety of sizes.
I’m gearing up for several art fairs this fall and winter (details to come); they will also be available on Etsy this fall.

05.12.13 light
First blog photo taken on my iPhone – definitely need to devote some time to learning this newest camera but got the job done while busy at the craft fair yesterday. It was a day filled with good people, creativity, light, and music; the guy next to me made cigar-box guitars and played juicy, happy/sad blues all day long…
05.11.13 invitation
CRAFTSTRAVAGANZA today. Join me?
05.06.13 shape of things to come…
These towers of wood blocks are threatening to take over the studio. Lovingly handcrafted by MY DAD using reclaimed wood, the blocks will feature flush-mounted photos sealed with a satin varnish. They’re something new I’m rolling out at this weekend’s Craftstravaganza. Coming soon to my Etsy shop, too…
04.14.13 craftstravaganza
Yesterday I got to scope out my digs for the upcoming CRAFTSTRAVAGANZA! (say it loud with lots of reverb). I’m really excited to be part of this big, indie craft fair at the state fairgrounds in St. Paul. Consider yourself invited! The big day is Saturday, May 11 from 10am to 5pm. I’ll be rolling out new work and new items including wood-mounted prints.
If you’re in the neighborhood, stop and say hi. I’d love to see you.
