everyday still life

This feels like a good companion to a post I created during my last 365 project nearly two years ago: art of everyday life.

Nothing is more intimate (and more overlooked) than the objects we handle every day. These stalwarts exude a simple beauty, weathering the rituals of our days and bearing the marks of our journeys.

02.17.13 thought of spring

I’ve been indoors more than I’d like lately and, with Sawyer sick, the cabin fever has been quite literal at times. It’s that point mid-February when the sun starts to tease us with thoughts of bare feet and longer days.

I’ve been encouraged by the sunny greetings coming through the window and dream of the warm breezes to follow. But we’re not quite there yet. For today, it’s a pot of curry, a cup of steaming tea, and a ray of hope.
