Action-packed family field trip yesterday via the new green line train to St. Paul. We visited the Science Museum of Minnesota, had lunch, and explored our twin city, all in honor of Sawyer’s 11th birthday. From pre-history to the farthest reaches of space and back to Minneapolis, all in one day. What a ride! What a kid!

The only thing brighter than the sun and redder than the apples on our field trip to Applewood Orchard was my sweet Zola Belle and her Chuck Taylors! Later, when she walked home from school in just her socks, I learned that these adorable hand-me-downs from big brother Sawyer were already too small. Glad we got one day – and the shot.

I had the chance to visit a local farm yesterday with Zola’s preschool class. Gale Woods Farm is a great place for city kids to learn where their food comes from, how animals are raised, and what fresh produce tastes like. While I enjoyed the lambs and the chicks, it was the site of all the lush, green plants that really made me swoon…

Yesterday was Zola’s first ever class field trip. It was my first black light performance complete with hyper-color puppets, and a gaggle of giddy preschoolers but no Pink Floyd to speak of…
