This pool, at the base of a fountain, is in constant motion. But, frozen in the midst of its swirling, churning movement, the surface looks almost like bubble glass with shimmering bits of light caught in a sea of aquamarine.
This fountain in TCF Tower appeared a bit neglected at first glance. A closer look revealed the mercurial shimmer of the water droplets dancing in the golden light.
I often think about the idea of “almost abstract” when I’m taking pictures. The subject matter is still identifiable, especially if you really look but the image is really about colors, textures, and patterns.
