This is the time of year when my herbs are abundant and I begin to panic about the days I left to enjoy them. Fresh herbs are one of the few things that make me pine for life in a warmer climate. They make me feel rich. Time to get cooking, I guess…there’s a frost warning up north tonight !?!?!?!?!

One of the things I miss most in winter is fresh food, particularly herbs. I find walking out to the garden to pick fresh herbs for cooking to be utterly luxurious. So simple. So very satisfying.

The chives are always the first to return and couldn’t be more welcome.

04.01.13 lucky in love

You’ve probably gathered by now that I’m madly in love with my husband, Brad. I could go on and on,  but let me just say, the man is crazy good.

Not only that, he came with a great family. My in-laws are helpful, kind, easy to be with, and – as if that wasn’t enough – they serve things like THIS for Easter dinner. And don’t seem to mind when I photograph it at the table! 🙂
