Yesterday, as the sun was falling in the west, I looked up and discovered the sunlight shining on the underside of the maple leaves on the upper branches. It turned them a cheerful chartreuse, in complete contrast with the dark green of the shaded leaves below. The effect was that the tree had grown taller than the sun and was lit up from below.
